Library

The Library and Information Center is truly the heart of BILIA. Since its inception it has been growing constantly and serving a vibrant community of scholars, academicians and researchers as well as general users. The Library has a rich collection of books, journals, and periodicals.

The BILIA library was launched in 1972. It is located at the historic Suhrawardy House, once the residence of Huseyn Shaheed Surawardy (1892-1963) an eminent lawyer, politician and the fifth Prime Minister (1956-1957) of Pakistan.

The BILIA Library has books on law, political science, geography, international politics, gender studies, international relations, foreign policy, international trade, globalization, strategic studies, law of the sea, security studies, peace and conflict studies, area studies, disarmament studies, public administration, history, philosophy, international humanitarian law, human rights law, governance, public policy, diplomacy, religion, cultural studies, anthropology, political theory, criminal law, criminal justice, south asian studies, economics, governance studies, global studies, development studies, sociology, constitutional law, public international law, refugee law, political philosophy.

The library has a collection of 10,000 books covering the abovementioned disciplines. With a view to better serve the library users BILIA has undertaken an initiative to expand its library and to bring about a qualitative change in information management. Keeping in mind the changing need of library users, BILIA is also in the process of digitalizing its library.

Publications Exchange Program (PEP):

BILIA has a publication exchange program under which it exchanges its regular publications with similar research institutes, think tanks and universities. To join our publications exchange program please send an e-mail to: bilia222.info@gmail.com. As a PEP partner institution you will regularly get a complimentary copy of the Bangladesh Journal of Law and the Journal of International Affairs.
