The Institute is conceived as a research and training
centre and civil society think-tank whose objectives, among others, include:
To advance the sciences of law, jurisprudence and international
politics, and economics and the study, classification and development of
the literature of these subjects for building institutions relating to good
governance, capacity building and development of human resources.
To provide a non-partisan ground for the scholars and
experts to facilitate the formulation of common policies in important areas
of law and international affairs.
To promote good governance and human rights and ameliorate
the overall quality of administration of justice through judicial training
and other legal reform efforts.
"To conduct in-depth research in critical areas of law, sustainable development
and human rights.
To create a platform for public discussion on important
issues of national economic and social interest with a view to raise public
awareness and build consensus on such issues.
To provide and maintain means of information upon international
questions and promote the study and investigation of international questions
by means of lectures, roundtables and discussions, and by the preparation
and publication of books, records, reports or other works.
To disseminate the wisdom and knowledge stemming from the
brainstorming dialogues, public lectures and discussions to a broad spectrum
of civil society.
To encourage and facilitate the study of international
questions and to promote the exchange of information, knowledge and thoughts
on international affairs and the understanding of the circumstances, conditions
and views of nations and peoples.
To establish and maintain contacts with other organizations concerned
with similar objects through active networking activities.
To enhance endogenous institutional capacity and encourage research
activities through grants, fellowships, award prizes scholarships and stipends.
To play a proactive role in enhancing institutional support in establishing
democracy and rule of law in the country.
The Institute meets these objectives through its
research, judicial and legal training, human resource development programmes,
discussion meetings,
conferences, workshops, publications and library and information services.
